20046 MICROOHMMETER
WITH CASE — TOP OF THE RANGE - 32000 points 10nΩ — 3200Ω
CASE INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING RESISTIVE ELEMENTS AT VERY LOW VALUES
The Microohmmeter 20046 is an instrument specifically designed for use in the field: it is equipped with a robust watertight plastic container and can operate on battery power (which is supplied as standard) ensuring considerable operating autonomy. The extremely compact size, the precision characteristics, measurement points, functionality and portability that it offers make this device unique. It is able to measure resistive elements between 3200Ω and 10nΩ, even in the presence of extremely high inductive components such as in large medium and high voltage line transformers. Noteworthy is the possibility of saving up to 1000 measurements in the non-volatile memory and automatically saving the measurement at selectable intervals so as to easily obtain graphs.
►32000 measurement points/4 measurements per second
► Ranges from 3200Ω to 320μΩ (resolution from 100mΩ to 10nΩ)
► choice of automatic or manual range
► saving up to 1000 measurements, each with date and time up to the second of resolution
► possibility of automatic saving/recording of the measurement every 1-2-5-10-30-60 seconds
► graphic display
► automatic zeroing of the instrument
► compensation of the measurement cables
► choice and display of the extent of the measurement filtering
► backlight that can be activated/deactivated
► acoustic signal of the correctness or incorrectness of the settings
► battery/mains operation
► indication of the battery charge status
► reading of data and measurements saved in non-volatile memory via opto-isolated USB connection using the dedicated SW 20046 Remote Viewer interfaceable with Excel
► recording, display on a graph, saving of data acquired automatically or manually via the Recorder20000 SW, interfaceable with Excel, connected with opto-isolated USB
► transfer from instrument to PC of 1000 saved measurements in 3.7 seconds
The instrument allows, in the lower range, the capacity of 320μΩ which offers an exceptional resolution of 0.01μΩ, a resolution available only on a few laboratory instruments. A further performance concerns the possibility of saving up to 1000 measurements together with date and time with a resolution of 1 second and of starting an automatic recording of the data with selectable sampling intervals of 1-2-5-10-30-60 seconds. Thanks to the SW 20046 Remote Viewer and Recorder 20000 it is possible to download the data saved in the non-volatile memory and send them directly to an Excel sheet as well as synchronize, with a simple button, the instrument clock to the PC system clock. The possibility of setting the desired filter to improve the stability of the measurement, performing the auto-zeroing or compensation of the current cables and activating or not the backlight remains unchanged. As visible in the images below, all the useful information is always displayed on the 2.8-inch display, together with the indication of the range, the Automatic/Manual status, battery charge status, time and date as well as the number of saved measurements.

Do you need a replacement probe?
We can provide replacement probes both in case the probe breaks and if the customer wants to have both types of probe (standard and flat).
The probes are interchangeable after recalibrating the instrument, which is carried out using the ST200 Calibration System.
The technical details of the probes and the calibration system are available on the side or by downloading the PDF with the button below.
SM5 - Standard probe
The head of the measuring probe, to allow the most precise possible positioning of the pre-brush spring, is shaped with a 120° wide “V” groove and
central cylindrical recess with diameter 5 mm and depth 1.5 mm, for housing the cylindrical pressure finger of helical spiral pre-brush springs:
- total probe height = 8 mm
- dimensions 16 x 10 x 8 mm
SM5/F - Flat probe
For special applications or for specific customer needs, the probe head is flat, without the “V” slot and the cylindrical recess, the height of the probe is smaller:
- without “V” groove and cylindrical recess
· total probe height = 7 mm
- dimensions 16 x 10 x 7 mm
ST200 - Calibration System
The probes are interchangeable after re-calibrating the instrument, carried out using the optional ST200 Calibration System, which is also used to periodically check the correct calibration of the probe over time.
The ST200 Calibration System is supplied with a sample weight of 2 kg
Kelvin cables
The four-terminal (Kelvin) measurement method uses two leads for current and two for voltage, to eliminate the resistance of the measurement leads and improve accuracy.
There are two different types of Kelvin Leads, the length of the lead can be customized.
KB7 - Kelvin cable
Pair of Kelvin KB7 type measuring cables with crocodile clips with max opening 7mm -
Cable length = 1.60m
KB32 - Kelvin cable
Pair of Kelvin KB32 type measuring cables with crocodile clips with max opening 32mm -
Cable length = 1 m
